Some Criticisms on Current AI Boom

Abstract:

Over the past decade, deep learning technology has achieved astonishing breakthroughs, potentially bringing profound and even disruptive impacts across a range of economic sectors and scientific disciplines. This has sparked a new wave of AI enthusiasm, which is particularly more intense in our country compared to the international landscape. However, amidst the current enthusiasm, there exists excessive "hype" and "irrationality" leading to an "overheating" phenomenon. The technological pathways for AI development are also lacking in diversity. This report examines and reflects on the essence of current AI, its potential impacts, and the goals and pathways for humanity in developing AI.
