HKUST (GZ) Signs Strategic Framework Agreement with XbotPark
On July 19, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (hereafter referred to as “HKUST (GZ)”) and XbotPark Robot Tribe (hereafter referred to as “XbotPark”) held a strategic framework agreement signing ceremony in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, Guangdong Province.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Jingshen Wu, Vice-President for Teaching and Learning of HKUST (GZ), and Zexiang Li, professor at the Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering, HKUST and founder of XbotPark on behalf of both sides. The signing of the agreement was also attended and witnessed by representatives from both sides, including Min Chen, Director of RedBird Master Program of HKUST(GZ), Miaojun Huang, Deputy Director of RedBird Master Program, Dong Zhang, Director of RedBird Maker Space of HKUST (GZ), Xi Yang, General Manager of XbotPark, Xiaoxi Tang, Deputy General Manager of XbotPark, Chunhua Yu, Technical Director of Supply Chain of XbotPark, Hongwei Ke, General Manager of XbotPark (Ningbo), Yimeng Zhang, General Manager of XbotPark (Chongqing), and Haobo Liang, head of the Hong Kong Center for Construction Robotics.
The signing of this strategic framework agreement marks a substantial step forward in the university-enterprise cooperation for RedBird Master Program of HKUST (GZ). Earlier, RedBird Master Program and XbotPark reached an agreement on various issues such as research master joint training, entrepreneur joint training, summer/winter camp joint organization, innovation education course and topic joint development, as well as platform/base joint construction. The first cooperation plan for “Top-notch Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talent Training” is expected to be implemented in 2023. In the future, both sides will give full play to their respective advantages, form a long-term mechanism for integrating industry and education, and jointly promote comprehensive cooperation in the selection and training of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, scientific research and technological innovation.
To celebrate 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China and better shoulder the mission of national education reform in colleges and universities, HKUST (GZ) leverages its unique advantages in talents, scientific research and internationalization, deeply aligns with the market demand for science and technology innovation, promotes the university-enterprise cooperation, builds innovative entrepreneurial cooperation platforms, and contributes to building an international science and technology innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
