Brightest Star! The Gymnasium of HKUST (GZ) Shines in the Night Sky

The gymnasium of HKUST (GZ) is nearly completed. Late last night, the lighting equipment outside the gymnasium was tested for use.

Near the track of the gymnasium, the sign “HKUST (GZ)” shines in the night sky. It is learned that HKUST (GZ) is the first university in the Chinese mainland to install luminous signs outside the gymnasium and main buildings.

As an important part of the “sports village”, the gymnasium of HKUST (GZ) includes the sports hall and the outdoor stadium (including the bleacher). The gymnasium covers a total construction area of 14,953.67 square meters, equipped with a thermostatic swimming pool, fitness rooms, basketball courts, squash courts, rock-climbing walls and other sports facilities.

The bleacher covers a total construction area of 1,619 square meters and has a seating capacity of over 700.

The main venue for lighting this time is the track-and-field ground in the center of the gymnasium. The track-and-field ground is comprised of eight main runways, ten 110-meter straight runways, and a standard-size artificial turf football field, which makes it qualified for holding track and field competitions at all levels in China.

The gymnasium is the main place for teachers and students to exercise and stimulate the vitality of life. It is expected to be formally put into use in late August.
