HKUST(GZ) will enroll undergraduates in 2023. The first three undergraduate programs offered at HKUST(GZ) are Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Big Data Technology and Smart Manufacturing. To facilitate students' access to information related to undergraduate academic life, the HKUST (GZ) Undergraduate Academic Life Website of has been officially launched.
The HKUST (GZ) Undergraduate Academic Life Website will show the comprehensive vision, talent cultivation goals, undergraduate cultivating characteristics, undergraduate curriculum structure and specific course information of HKUST (GZ).

Undergraduate Curriculum Structure
HKUST (GZ) adopts a broad undergraduate admissions system with a phased approach to nurture students. In Year 1 and 2 students will enroll in Fundamental Courses according to their interests and background as well as courses in other areas to fulfill the Common Core Program requirement. In Year 3, students will declare their major program.
Common Core Program, the primary courses covering the first and second year of undergraduate study, scaffold students during the whole learning process. To develop students’ personal quality, knowledge, skill, and competence, Common Core curricula cover three cover three tiers of course group: Foundations, Broadening, and Experiencing.
In their first and second years, students will learn various introductory knowledge of different majors through a series of Fundamental Courses, to explore their personal interests and personalize career pathways. At the end of the second year, students will choose their own specialism based on their interests and strengths, and will enter their chosen specialism in the third year for advanced study.
