HKUST(GZ) PLACE 2024 Summer Camp Registration Starts

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) will host its first Playshop for Language and Cultural Exchange (PLACE) Summer Camp from July 25 to August 14, 2024. The registration has recently started. Outstanding high school and university students are welcome to apply. At PLACE Summer Camp, students from around the world will engage in in-depth discussions, build friendships, and experience growth alongside Chinese students.

During the three-week camp, participants will take part in a wide range of modular activities related to culture, language, sports, and science, as well as five themed cultural tours to various destinations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. PLACE Summer Camp is an ideal place for international and domestic students who have a passion for exploring the cultural tapestry and vibrant energy of the Greater Bay Area and forming intercultural networks and friendships.

Application Requirements

Outstanding high school and college students from China and overseas.

Having English proficiency for daily communication (relevant proof of English proficiency should be provided).

Fees and Deadlines

Camp Fee: 28,000 RMB (about 3,900 USD).

Regular Application Deadline: June 30, 2024

Early Bird Camp Fee: 25,200 RMB (about 3,510 USD).

Early Bird Application Deadline:May 30, 2024

*Camp fee including tuition, accommodation and meals, guided tours, and insurance.

*If you need a visa to travel to China, please submit your application at least 15 days earlier than the two deadlines.

Travel Grants

PLACE Summer Camp aims to provide a high-quality language and cultural exchange program for all students. Considering the different financial situations of students, we have established a travel grant scheme to support students who qualify for admissions but may have financial concerns.

The travel grants may cover tuition, accommodation, airfare, meals, outings, insurance, and other expenses, with the possibility of full coverage.

Applicants should submit relevant supporting materials at the time of registration. After review by the Admissions Selection Committee, approved cases and specific amounts will be stated in the offer letter.

Application Process

2. Await the admissions committee's review of your application. Successful applicants will receive an offer letter which details payment, grants (if any), and travel information.

3. Complete payment and finalize enrollment.
