HKUST(GZ) Summer School offers a unique platform for students to engage in interdisciplinary studies and immerse themselves in a multicultural environment. Courses cover cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, financial technology, advanced materials, etc.

Taught by HKUST(GZ) academics: 

The program draws on robust faculty and extensive international educational resources. You'll be taught face-to-face in interactive, participatory classes.

Earn credits:

Academic transcripts will be issued by HKUST(GZ) upon program completion, allowing you to advance your academic journey and transfer credits back to your home institution. The home institution will determine the credit transfer in accordance to the home institution’s credit transfer policies.

03 Course Offerings

Students can participate in the program for either 4 or 8 weeks in the summer. Students enrolling in one Session can take 1-2 courses, while students enrolling in two Sessions can take a maximum of 3 courses.

04 Eligibility

1 Senior high school students and current university students (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels).

2 Applicants whose first language or teaching medium in the home institution is NOT English are required to submit a certificate to prove their proficiency in English:

✔ IELTS Academic:

Overall band: 6.0

(with no subtest lower than 5.5)

✔ TOEFL:

Internet-based Test:80 

Paper-delivered Test:550

✔ CET:

Band 4:493

Band 6:450

05 Application Process

1. Complete Online Application on Website

Application Materials:

  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Proof of enrollment signed/stamped by your home institution
  • Academic transcript
  • CV (1-2 pages)
  • Awards, scholarships and prizes received (if any)

2. Admission Result Announcement

HKUST(GZ) will review your submission and notify you of the admission decision by email.

3. Visa Application (Self-care) 

Admitted applicants will receive an official Admission Letter issued by HKUST(GZ) for visa application. Please note that all applicants are responsible for arranging their visa (if needed) and travel to and from the university. International students coming to China for the summer school could apply for a visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in their country of nationality or country of residence. For the visa options, please refer to Chinese Embassy/Consulate. If you need any support, please email summerschool@hkust-gz.edu.cn.

4. Offer Acceptance

Complete payment and finalize enrollment.

07 Accommodation
