MOE Vice-Minister inspects HKUST(GZ)

On Nov 29, Vice-Minister of Education Youqun REN conducted an inspection visit to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou).

Professor Lionel NI, President of HKUST(GZ), delivered a presentation about the University's unique interdisciplinary approach, its internationalization efforts, and its role in strengthening national language skills.

Assistant Professor Li LIU from the Information Hub discussed the progress and achievements of HKUST(GZ)'s integrated platform project for national language resource services, which uses a large-scale national language service model.

REN fully praised HKUST(GZ)'s accomplishments. He hoped that the University will continue to promote innovation-driven growth, strengthen the unique partnership between Guangdong province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and ultimately build a world-class hub for developing top-tier innovative talent with a solid base in the Greater Bay Area and a global outlook.

Those who accompanied REN were Dan YANG, director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges and director of the Office for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs of the Ministry of Education, and Siying GE, deputy secretary-general of the Secretariat of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO.

Yunzhen SHAO, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, was also present.
