Biography

Professor ZHEN currently serves as the Associate Vice President of th Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(Guangzhou), where he oversees undergraduate recruitment and admissions. Additionally, he holds the position of Acting Master of Residential College 2, contributing to the academic and social development of its students. He is Professor of Practice in Fintech.

He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge in 2005. Before assuming his current roles, Dr. Zhen was the founding Associate Master of Cheng Yu Tung College and later served as Master of Choi Kai Yau College. He also held the position of Professor in the Faculty of Social Science at the University of Macau. As one of the founders of Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University, Professor Zhen played a pivotal role in establishing several academic programs, including Financial Mathematics, Finance, and Applied Economics. He was instrumental in developing the university’s undergraduate recruitment and admissions processes, successfully building a strong team and strategy during its formative years. With a wealth of administrative experience in cross-border education, Professor Zhen is a dedicated educator and highly motivated scholar. His expertise spans finance, economics, and business administration, reflecting his commitment to fostering academic excellence and student success.
