The Industrial Informatics and Intelligence Institute officially opened

On January 19, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Industrial Informatics and Intelligence Institute (referred to as the Triple-i Institute) officially opened. This opening ceremony signifies a significant step taken by Triple-i Institute in promoting industrial intelligence transformation and enhancing industrial competitiveness. The Triple-i Institute focuses on industrial big data, industrial intelligence, industrial Internet of Things, and industrial carbon neutrality, and is jointly led by Prof. Fugee TSUNG, Prof. Xiaowen CHU, Prof. Min GAO, and Prof. Jia LI.

The opening ceremony invited Mr. Ge YANG, a level I division rank official from the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision and Administration, Prof. Kaishun WU, Associate Vice President (Research) of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), Prof. Lei CHEN, Dean of the Information Hub, and Prof. Shiwei LI, Dean of the System Hub. More than ten representatives from prominent domestic and foreign companies from manufacturing, technology, energy, and other industries also attended the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Ge YANG delivered the first speech. The establishment of the Triple-i Institute is not only significant for promoting the informatization and intelligent development of Guangzhou's industry but also a tangible manifestation of Guangzhou's implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy and the pursuit of becoming a quality powerhouse. The establishment of the Triple-I Institute will effectively promote the transformation and upgrading of Guangzhou's industries, improve product quality and competitiveness, and inject new impetus into Guangzhou's industrial innovation and development.

Prof. Kaishun WU then delivered a speech. He stated that the establishment of the Triple-i Institute is a significant stride taken by our school in technological innovation and school-enterprise collaboration. The Triple-i Institute will continue to foster cooperation and exchanges between schools and industry, promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and infuse new vitality into regional economic development.

Subsequently, Prof. Fugee TSUNG, Director of the Triple-i Institute, delivered a speech. He stated that the Triple-i Institute is committed to researching and applying industrial information and intelligent technology, and actively exploring new models and pathways for intelligent transformation. At the same time, the Triple-i Institute will also enhance collaboration with governments, enterprises, and all sectors of society to collectively promote industrial upgrading in the Greater Bay Area and the entire country, and support the high-quality development of industrial sectors.

During the opening ceremony, nine guests jointly pressed the opening button, marking the official opening of a new chapter for the Triple-i Institute.

Subsequently, Prof. Fugee TSUNG, issued letters of appointment to the members of the Industrial Advisory Committee of the Triple-i Institute, marking the official establishment of the Industrial Advisory Committee of the Triple-i Institute. The Triple-i Institute will continue to assist schools and enterprises in deepening their cooperation and is committed to constructing an integrated platform for industry, academia, and research.

During the speech session for the representatives of the Industrial Advisory Committee, three representatives from different fields expressed their active support for the work of the Triple-i Institute . They pledged to jointly promote the intelligent development of the industry and conveyed their support and best wishes for the future development of the Triple-i Institute.

After the opening ceremony, the guests visited the Triple-i Institute and the project results display area. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the research direction, technical achievements, and application cases of the Triple-i Institute, and were deeply impressed by its strength and achievements.
