President Lionel M. NI met with Ambassador Xu CHEN of the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva

Professor Lionel M. NI, President of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), who is currently visiting Switzerland, paid a visit to Ambassador Xu CHEN, the Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, on February 2nd, local time.

President NI is currently leading a delegation from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) on a visit and exchange program with higher education institutions and their partners in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and France. Ambassador Xu CHEN warmly welcomed President NI and his delegation and hosted a dinner reception in their honor.

Ambassador Xu CHEN provided an overview of the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland. President NI shared the founding history, educational philosophy, and international cooperation approach of HKUST(GZ). Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as trends in higher education domestically and internationally, technological revolutions and industrial transformations, global development, and international cooperation.

Mr. Yuyin LIU, the Press Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, along with Prof. Lei CHEN, Dean of the Information Hub at HKUST(GZ), Prof. Ricky Shi-Wei LEE, Dean of the Systems Hub, and Jing FU, Head of the Global Affairs Department, attended the visit and dinner reception.
