Ms. Mary Cohen, the Managing Director, stated that the University of Chicago encourages students to engage in interdisciplinary learning and that most students have dual degrees in different fields. In terms of research, the school has established an interdisciplinary research committee to organize related topics. Most excitingly, many graduate research projects are related to real-world industrial issues, which are very similar to the educational philosophy of HKUST(GZ).

The delegation also met with Mr. Yougen YU, Education Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, and exchanged views on actively promoting exchanges between Chinese and American youth.

At the same time, Professor YANG, representing HKUST(GZ), participated as a speaker at the 15th China Education Symposium at Harvard University on April 22nd, delivering a keynote speech titled “Trans-disciplinary Education Practice Centered on the Growth of Every Student”.
