Two national key research and development projects have been launched at HKUST(GZ)

Since its establishment, the national key research and development program has continuously provided support and guidance for major areas of the national economy and social development. It also directly reflects the implementation of significant scientific and technological strategies in our country. Undertaking national key research and development projects is a crucial means for HKUST(GZ) to address national needs and contribute to the country's strategic goal of becoming a technological powerhouse by leveraging interdisciplinary research advantages. Since its founding, the university has actively promoted and deployed national key research and development programs, providing professional project organization and support services. In 2023, our university achieved significant breakthroughs in key areas such as "Basic Research Conditions and Development of Major Scientific Instruments," "Comprehensive Control of Atmospheric, Soil, and Groundwater Pollution," and "New Energy Vehicles" under the national key research and development program.

On May 8th and 9th, our university hosted two consecutive project launch and implementation plan demonstration meetings for national key research and development programs. The projects included the "Development and Application of Intelligent Processing Software Systems for Scientific Literature" led by Professor Lei CHEN from Information Hub, and the "Knowledge-Driven Intelligent Analysis Methods and Systems for Scientific Data" led by Professor Hui XIONG from Information Hub. Both demonstration meetings were organized by the leading unit of the projects, HKUST(GZ).
